I have recorded my long path of work, creativity and imagination and sadly it comes to an end. The semester is winding down as the last week of finals raps up. I look back at all the crazy adventures i got myself into in second-life. I realize one thing what a blast i had. My boutique is up and running, my avatar is looking spectacular, and my second-life designing skill have improved greatly. I will miss second-life for the month and a half that i am away for vacation. I’m still not certain if i am returning to second-life however it isn’t ruled out completely. I entered second-life in spring of 2007 as a peasant with no money and primitive hair and at fall 2007 i am Hera the Queen of all Gods reigning from Mount Olympus!!!!! I am Fausto Dagostino hear me roar!!!!!

Zazzle and Secondlife

As part of the project we had to create ten items in zazzle and transform them into second-life garments. The result are nine fabulous T-shirts and one hoodie..lol.  The section in my store with the zazzle items are located in the gazebo in Olympus. I wanted to portray a theme with my zazzle items. I didn’t want them to be just random shirts that don’t have anything to do with my boutique. So I put quotes and phrases on them that represented me as a person. I have been so busy with the creation of the fabulous inventory for my store. I have created everything from custom textiles to silhouettes. Mount and Olympus and Hades are the top two most fabulous i have ever seen if i say so myself……lol. Everything was a lot of work and aggravating. There were a lot of flexi manipulation and creative crunching and just plain old having fun. After countless weeks of finger-breaking clicking and brain frustrations this is the end result a boutique i can call my own.

OMG Y’all I have found two new websites. These websites concentrate on business and have a lot of information on fashion businesses. The websites are www.bnet.com and www.ibm.com. These websites have phenomenal information on everything anyone would need to know. The services include reports, statistics, research and business forecasting. And the most amazing part of it is that it is all for free. Using these websites is so informative and there are lectures and interviews of business moguls on bnet. As an aspiring fashion designer, I must think of the business as well of the creativity and glamour aspect of the industry. The subjects on both websites vary from specific designer companies to leaders in the textile and apparel industry. If your looking for a refresher in apparel business or you want to keep up with the happenings in the world, www.ibm.com and www.bnet.com are the websites for you.

Salutations readers,

           Mount Olympus is finished let me tell you all. There just a few minor adjustments that have to be done and the boutique is ready to filled with the glorious merchandise. I went a little crazy with the pics because I received a few new poses and they were fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I mean come on they had a pose called “Vogue” for crying out loud! How could i resist? Well these are all the fabulous pictures i took i hope you enjoy them!!!! They were taken on my finished Mount Olympus. If anyone has any questions then let me know. By the way my avatar for the entire time that i have Mount Olympus will be Hera the Queen of the Gods!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!

In my favorite virtual hang out “Second Life”, we have started to make our own boutiques. Some of my colleagues have created some very unique stores. ”But Fausto what about your boutique? you may ask. Here it is, my inspiration is heaven and hell, good and bad. And what other way to to illustrate this than having Mount Olympus and Hades!!! Genius huh? It took me a very long time and I’m still doing some tweeking to the schematics to the place but its gorgeous and yes people I have pictures!!!!!!!!YAY!!!! In the pictures below you will find me and my peer Avatar MeuMeu just hanging out after i built as well as pics of me creating my boutique. I used the build tool in “Second Life” in conjunction with items i have acquired in the freebie places.

I am so sorry everyone, I have been ranting about fashion this and virtual that and never really introduced myself. My name is Fausto and I am a fashion student in college. This blog is part of an independent study and is a huge part of my current stress…lol. Now to get down to business, I favorite fashion lines are Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce and Gabanna, and of course  Chanel. My style in one word is oxymoron. I love using contrasting style or symbols to create a look that is so fierce that only true fashionistas and fashion mavericks can appreciate and truly love.  Here are some fabulous pics of my work so you can know the style behind the fabulousness.

 Eventually I want to own three clothing lines, a couture line, a high fashion line(ready to wear) and a mass produced line(a chain store ex:Gap).   My aspirations in life is just not to become a fashion designer but to become an icon as well. I want to be remembered in history forever. I want to die the most fabulous person that has ever lived or ever will live. Of course the route to my future is fashion and one day i will make it there.

IMVU

                             IMVU is a 3D instant messenger, which is now in beta testing with more than 1 million customers around the world. The service lets users express themselves by creating and customizing a 3D avatar with a wide variety of clothes, accessories, pets, and scenes. The service has been live for several years, and it is generating a rapidly growing revenue stream from the sale of virtual currency. Much like second life, IMVU has similar functions and properties. For example skins, shapes and clothing. While IMVU takes less space on a computer and requires less potent graphic cards it does not capture the liberty that second life provides. The following is some pics of my avatar on IMVU.

                             In the about section on the IMVU website they explain how they want to take IMVU to another level with games that will be played with your avatar, another platform to be able to transfer your avatr to your cell phone, they want to upgrade from a beta system to include better graphics and sound, to include celebraties and brand labels within the IMVU world, as well as creating a better rating and controls to better have wider variety in the IMVU world, and finally to create actual games outside of IMVU to expand their creation. As a IMVU user i must say its a extremely cute program and all i have to say is i wish more people were on it!!!!

Welcome back fashion followers.

                       As a fashion student I create patterns, seamless textures for various purposes. Some I create for use in second life and some I use for portfolio amplification. These textures can be inspired from anything and look as the creator wishes it to be. For my current class i was asked to create twelve seamless textures that all correlate with each other. My inspiration is very whimsical and light hearted.

These patterns will appear on my avatar in secondlife, in my portfolio, on various products on Zazzle and of course on my virtual fashion designs. Textures can intensify a garment or object or make it more peaceful. Its all up to the individual designer. I know i love me some textures, they are everyone’s best friend!!!!!

Interesting websites are open to all and can be a great outlet for mavericks that wish to illustrate their style without having to do more than click and type. Have you ever wanted a t shirt or a hat that said a unique phrase or picture only known to you or doesnt currently exist? Well Zazzle is the place for you. A new website for custom Hood’s, shirts, aprons and mouse-pads and more are available at this website called www.zazzle.com . The website allows the user to create unique graphics on an article of clothing or any otherproduct that they offer.
